That explains the figure I had in mind for a new , complete, axle - including hubs and brakes. 

 

But the complaints were generally about the lower weight rated axle, the one originally supplied with the early machines off the assembly line. Ours is no 12. 

 

We bought ours as a used demo from forst and they supplied a complete up-rated axle free of charge and with no quibbling when problems started.

I’ll have a chat with the service guys next week and then consider  our options.
