Its not really a con since there are plenty of oils you can use at 50:1

They will want you to buy husky oil but they will also not want you to put cheapo nasty oil in at 50:1

Not sure what your oil is like but maybe best to go a 33:1 if your not sure if its a high performance oil.

Just use Aspen 2T, ready mixed, kinder to the enviroment and a lot brtter for the saws, you shold be able to get it from your local Arb shop.

Not very kind to your wallet though! :scared1:

Not saying your wrong at all but "kinder to the enviroment" not too sure about that bit tbh.

Is supposed to be better for your health though:thumbup1:

Yes it is a little more expensive, but what you use on a daily basis, two or three litres. It is kinder to the enviroment and the end user, we have used this for the last three years milling timber and have found that using regular 2 stroke gave the guys headakes after a days use where the Aspen 2T did not, the gases produced from regular petrol are very high where when using Aspen they are reduced.

Can't easily get Aspen in the US of Eh. I run full synthetic mix, at about 36-1. Many of my saws have been woods modded, the rest are muffler ported. all run 20-60% faster than stock. I want to be assured that a lean condition never develops, so I make sure the carbs are adjusted properly. A little extra mix is good insurance, and, if its full synthetic, will still burn clean with little or no carbon buildup. Same can't be said for dino mixes.

We have used Aspen fuel for a couple years, and are the noth easts biggest customer, (1 x 200l per month) and it does not work out any more expensive, taking into account engine damage due to wrong mix, going to the garage, storage, health implications etc......
