Job title: Work-Based Reviewer in Arboriculture

Location: Enfield, EN1 4RQ

FTE Salary: £21,413 - £28,687 plus £1,791 London Weighting

Casual Salary £13.96 per hour including holiday pay

 

Permanent, full-time, flexible and casual hours will all be considered

 

Capel Manor College is London’s only specialist college for land-based studies and an internationally renowned learning resource for those interested in Horticulture, Animal Management, Saddlery, Arboriculture, Floristry, Garden Design, Countryside and the Environment.

 

The College are currently looking for a Work-Based Reviewer in Arboriculture who will act as an assessor/coach/ instructor in the workplace, undertaking the work based training review of trainees’ competences in accordance with the requirements of the relevant Standard’s Assessment Plan.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Visiting trainees’ workplaces to ensure that the employer understands and is compliant with the terms of the apprenticeship in terms of its delivery, funding and health and safety requirements

  • Taking the lead in supporting apprentices, ensuring they remain on track and responding to their needs

  • Exercising flexibility in responding to employer requests and responding to employers rapidly changing priorities to provide a responsive service

  • Providing apprentices and their employers with feedback from assessment and training plans and completion of portfolio (e-Portfolio)

  • Liaising with tutors to ensure all aspects of the apprenticeship standard are being delivered for a timely success

  • Organising and participating in regular reviews of progress to include the employer an apprentice

  • Review and build portfolios

     

    The successful candidate will have a mature and calm approach to work and be able to schedule own appointments to meet targets and timescales.

     

    Required Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of a Level 3 Academic Qualification in Arboriculture

  • Level 2 award in chainsaw maintenance,  crosscutting timber using a chainsaw, felling and processing trees up to 380mm, accessing a tree using a rope and harness, aerial tree rescue operations and aerial cutting of trees using free fall techniques

  • Minimum of three years’ recent arboriculture industry experience

  • Clean driving licence & access to a vehicle
