ive found it really useful when spikeing up poles instead of pulling my self up. say you spike up conifer take all branches off then its time for lunch or whatever u stick your running bowline on wherever you are up the pole. then when you go back up again you stick the mini traxon on the single line and you can spike back up and it automatically runs though the pulley, but if you fell its got you. saves you haveing to stop and take slack out of rope all time when spikeing back up. properly sounds confuseing but its hard to explain. good bit of kit though.
