some one who i used to work with cut his hand with a 020 and its a nasty thing blood every where etc, always makes me think about what can happen if something goes wrong, hope the bloke is ok, its a bit of a eye opener on how dangerous our job is.

Its easy to forget you are always so close to a really dangerous situation, sad as it is accidents serve to remind us to all to take extra care!

 

I hope the guy makes a good recovery!!

Ditto to that, always sad to hear about any accident.

 

My thoughts are to say, think, plan, position then cut, slow and careful, lessens the risk,,,I hope?

Though no names have been mentioned in todays local paper, it appears to have been a home-owner having a go at the hedge. No doubt received some quotes for the work and thought he'd save a few bucks. I quite often point these incidents out to potential clients to warn them of the dangers, if they still choose to have a go, well what more can you do?

No mention as to whether they saved the arm, but thanks to the voluntary doctors service Magpas, and the East of England Air Ambulance service, he received some of the best trauma care available, thus saving his life.
