Anna's Beautiful Hand Carved Spoons

Recommended Posts

Based in Rural Gloucestershire, Anna carves beautiful and functional Spoons and Scoops from local sustainably sourced wood. A daughter of two Potters and a Woodcarver & Woodsman grandfather, she grew up surrounded by craft. With her quality of line and balance of form she studied sculpture at university. Since 2012 she has been carving spoons full time. Anna takes great delight in making honest, beautiful and functional objects that will become used, loved and treasured.

She will talk for hours about the joy and respect she has for well grown trees and often uses windblown timber. Each spoon is expertly and accurately carved using her grandfathers Kent pattern Axe. This axe is pictured in her makers mark. The spoon is then lovingly finished by hand with razor sharp straight and curved knives. When it is fully dry, the spoon is stamped and then oiled to give it a tough finish, then it is ready for use.

From the Cooking Spoon that can be used in making every meal, to its big brother - the Jam Making Spoon designed for reaching into large preserving pans to the sculptural and ever useful Serving Paddle. These spoons sit perfectly in any home.
