My Dissertation...

Evening all

I'm currently writing, or attempting to write a dissertation on Phytophthora, I am unsure of the exact direction it will be going yet, i.e. a specific disease or a comparison between the most common etc etc.

Basically I’m just wondering if anyone has any ideas about a good title, or question. As the only ‘tree expert’ the Bishop Burton College had was fired last year so I’m a bit stuck for people to go too!

Also are there any journals out there that would be of use in this area? I have found a thread recently - Articles for ISA Arboriculture Journal – which is very useful; any title of books would also be most useful!

Many thanks folks,

Also if some one is breaking a series 3 land rover I will be interested in a few bits!:001_tongue:

Ben

Interesting topic,

We have Phytophthora ramorum in our woodlands,

The Food and Environment Research Agency / Defra - Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs have a new five year programme on fighting Phytophthora so there should be some one able to help.

Got one of there people coming out next month so if i remember will ask for any specific names, ill assume you’re more interested in tree related cases. :001_smile:

"treatment & prevention of Phytophthora in trees(in the UK)"

you got several areas from here: the options, their legalities, costs & success rates

Are you at bishop then? & what course r u on???

For my sins yes im there :blushing:

im on environmental conservation, or that's what the course is called this year! its changed every year i've been there. from something like -environmental conservation, to wildlife and countryside conservation, to something else mental.

That's good one, i was working on something like that in my head but not got to far with it as the pub was taunting me.

My Advise, Get focused quickly, keep it simple and local, it will complicate itself enough as you get into it.

I had a nightmare with mine as It was base in NE Hungary and the Ukraine not great when your data sets are screwed up. Had to sort the whole lot out in 6 weeks and had a lot of gaps in the data. Hense my desmond... 2:2
