My roofmount stopped slewing today ,do i lift the crane off to dismantle or is there an easier way

I suspect it is the main gear i guess , how do you split it a nut underneath ?

Why do you suspect the slew gear, is there pressure at the slew cylinders ?

Never been inside a botex , but would assume they are the same principle as other cranes , in which case its a rack inside each slew cylinder.

Blown seals inside the cylinders can cause loss of slew

Thanks that would be an easy fix

 

very very rare for a rack to go wrong,..if you pull the cylinders to check seals you will be able to see.

I have lost slew with a piece of hose core blocking a hose,on another occasion the seal cap had sheared off the rack.
