yeah exsplained problems of leaving stump.

neighbouring hazel (other side of the fence) had a little look over seems to be the source / provider of this infection looking dead.

so unless i get other job and then jcb the whole area (highly unlikely) the problems going to remain.

we all now what we should do but its what the customer is going to pay us to do what counts imo and in this economic climate they do whats cheapest.

My take is this.

 

Doing any work to the tree will not help the tree recover but it might help the tree not drop/shed/split limbs over a certain target.

 

To help the tree remain alive as long as poss do nothing.

 

To help the customer in the long run fell the tree and re plant.
