Was this with an OEM piston and cylinder, or an aftermarket one? I did think about doing the same on the 281 I've found but wasn't sure on the quality/performance of the aftermarket as it's difficult/expensive to find OEM ones

I used a meteor piston and cylinder kit, about 70quid off ebay, very good quality, also fitted a meteor replacement piston in the 281 and no complaints on either.

I made a 188 by taking a 181 and fitting a 54mm piston and cylinder from the 288.

That was what I planned to do with mine but landed on a NOS genuine 81cc pot and piston for it.

Big thanks to Openspaceman for sorting me out with a tidy saw. Still on the original bar and looks like very little use, cleaned up pretty nicely.

 

Now to put it in to some big wood💪 (Hmm, that sound a bit gay!)
