My border terrier is with tesco pet insurance. They paid out with no hassle and very easy to deal with.

None. Hard decision... the premiums I could just about justify it is all the exclusions and levels of excess payments that are still payable that make it not worth the risk for us. Touch wood....

As with everything Read the very small print a friend of mine had to have brain surgery done on his dog, the insurance didnt cover that and cost him around 3k, the reason, his dog was just over 7 and the insurance only covered it til 7 years of age.

SNAP!

I suppose the other thing I have noticed is that when we do end up at the vets (operation to remove a thankfully non-malignant growth last year for example) is that you are asked whether or not you have insurance as you walk through the door. I have to say that I feel the charges that we have paid have been very reasonable and possibly quite different to what would be billed to an insurance company.

Hardly a thorough investigation - just my spider sense tingling.
