Home Based Rural Officer - North East would suit Arborist up to £33k p/a PAYE

Our client is an established provider of environmental consultancy & research through out the UK. They have an enviable range of clients both in the private and public sector, often being engaged for audit and monitoring of other consultancy contracts.

 

They are looking to appoint a Wayleaves Officer in the North East. This position would suit a candidate who is looking to gain technical experience; candidates may be studying for a level 3 qualification or already have one. You may be an arborist who wants to give up climbing but still work within the industry in a non hands on role while considering under taking further training or qualifications, or a candidate with some knowledge and experience of working in this sector. The role is based around working from home although our client has several offices in the North East.

 

Duties will involve obtaining landowner consents, Wayleaves and easements for the installation of new electricity lines and the refurbishment of existing overhead lines in a fast moving, client focused commercial environment.

 

Successful candidates will:

• Negotiate with landowners and occupiers to secure access arrangements and estimate and agree reasonable compensation in accordance with industry and client expectations. This will involve planning, organising, managing and monitoring to ensure that work is delivered on time and is delivered to the client’s satisfaction.

• Negotiate, obtain and resolve disputes concerning Wayleave Agreements and Deeds of Easement, so as to meet the full needs of the client as regards extent, operations and time scales.

• Submit applications to the Local Planning Authority for exemptions and Section 37 licences, consult with relevant statutory bodies and non-statutory consultees and obtain all environmental assents and consents all in accordance with the relevant legislation including the Electricity Act 1989.

• Establish and maintain good client relationships and identify opportunities for further work in order to contribute to meeting the team sales target.

 

Person specification

• A full driving licence will be required as will the need for flexible working with regard to type of work, timing and location.

• A good knowledge of agriculture and the rural environment.

 

In return a Salary in the range of £30,370 to £33,744 is offered with a Contributory Pension Scheme. There is also a flexible benefits programme including the option to buy additional holidays, childcare vouchers and private health care and regular training and career development .
