I own an Oak Plantatiion near Reigate in Surrey , it has about 3-400 50-60 year Old Oak trees. Its a very dense wood of trees and would benefit from thinning out so I would like to find a buyer for about 100-150 trees. Can you please advise me on who would be worth approaching and any points I need to consider. many thanks in advance Paul -
Hi We've got an Oak tree in our garden that has been pushing against a 5 ft boundary reataining wall leading onto a public highway. The other day the tree got the better of the wall and a 10 metre stretch collapsed. The council have agreed that there is an on going public safety risk from the wall the collapsing again in the future from tree pressure so they have agreed that I can fell the tree. It is about 3 metres in circumference at the base and about 15 metres high with huge limbs all over the place. anyhow, is there any market anywhere for felled wood like this? would there be a preference for the size and shape of felled pieces. I can't imagine that it can be felled as a single trunk because of surrounding space so does this make it less sellable? who might i contact to test interest? any thoughts appreciated. thanks
