A new, unique forestry event will take place in Scotland next month – 22nd and 23rd August. Forestry Expo Scotland will provide visitors the opportunity to not only see the latest and best forestry machines and equipment at work but also to hear from leading industry experts on the latest industry technology. Organiser Martin Dare, of Rural Projects Ltd, gave an insight into what visitors can expect: “Forestry Expo Scotland is unique in combining a large-scale harvesting demonstration, where we expect to harvest over 10,000 cubic metres over the course of the 2 days, with a packed field of trade stands, where further demonstrations will also take place.” “The event is supported by some of the biggest names in forestry machinery and forestry management and visitors will see the latest harvesters and forwarders from the likes of John Deere, Komatsu, Ponsse and Tigercat put through their paces in a real commercial harvesting environment.” “Our trade stand exhibitors range from woodland management experts to suppliers of machine consumables, specialist clothing and of course kit and machinery to suit all types and sizes of forestry operation.” “Scotland’s forestry and timber sector is a huge and important success story, currently contributing over £1bn to the economy, so this is a great time to stage this inaugural event.
