Looking for hard or soft wood - unprocessed is fine. Woodchips also great, or a mix.
Take the track off Little Gringley Lane and go all the way to the top until you reach an electric gate across the road, adjacent to the front doors of a house - big brass sign saying 'Welham Hall'. To the right of the Big brown doors is a pull handle bell - ring for payment.
Logs/Chippings can be tipped in front of the garage/near the allotment, but must not block the road as neighbours need it for access.

woodchip for use in chicken enclosure, garden paths and also for composting. Can deal with a relatively large volume on our driveway. Can also process logs for our wood burner so happy with mixed loads. Happy to pay cash on delivery up to £10 a tonne bag say, although also happy if it’s free! 😉
please do call prior to delivery as we need to ensure continued access for our electric vehicle to the charging cable! We also need to check the load as we just had a huge pile of logs delivered as Ash… they are not Ash and we’re having trouble IDing what they actually are 😏 (Oct 21).
Dropping onto the drive is best which is on a bit of a slope but should be accessible.

Oldfield Lodge - Tree planting project

Hello,
This is a permaculture site and we are going to plant lots of trees on our field. We welcome any clean woodchips - ie from trees which are not sprayed with chemicals of any sort.
We will also accept some wood logs, stumps and roots (fresh/ rotting) as long as they are not sprayed and chemical free - please call to discuss.
These will be used to improve soil biology and biodiversity on this site to turn it into a Food Forest with wildlife habitat.
We are happy to pay or give you fresh organically raised chicken eggs or seasonal produce as a thank you.
