About the role… Working with a team of expert Arborists, you will be involved in the delivery of vegetation management for our client Northern Power Grid. The role will involve clearance of vegetation to maintain a safety clearance from the overhead powerlines in accordance with safe working practises and as training, certifications and authorisations permit. There will also be a focus on customer care, dealing with the general public and their agents. The role will be based in the North East or Yorkshire. What will your day look like… Undertaking practical Arboriculture tasks contributing to an efficient combined voltage programme of tree clearance, within prescribed timescales. Climbing, pruning and site tidy up in line with BS3998 2010 and completion of data records. Adhering to all relevant legislation pertaining to tree management in relation to power line clearance, including Tree Preservation Orders, Conservation Area restrictions and European Protected Species. Landowner management including adhering to the agreed access and egress routes, work prescription as detailed on the work pack and maintaining a good communication with landowners when on the work site. About you… This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working outdoors, has a good level of physical fitness and is confident and capable whilst working at heights. You will hold a valid driving licence for working in different locations and transporting equipment (category BE is desirable). You will have the ability to read maps and have experience working within Arboriculture and Forestry. You will be able to demonstrate experience of a range of common industry related tasks and you will be familiar with different forms of machinery associated with modern Arboriculture. Good time management is essential for this role. Preferably, you will be trained in First Aid and hold UA 1,2.1, 2.2 and 2.3 and CS 30,31,38,39 or equivalent. About the role… Working with the Operations Manager, you will work as part of team to deliver detailed surveys and consent for our client, Northern Power Grid. You will prioritise personal safety and contract compliance as you carry out each task. What will your day look like… Arranging meetings with customers to assess their requests Answering questions form the client call centre Resolving any complaints that may arise from surveys and/or cutting work. Carrying out surveying maintenance and revisit work Surveying across multiple voltages About you… This role is perfect for someone with a Unit 5 qualification in Arboriculture Surveying and experience working in the Utilities Industry. You will be self-motivated and be comfortable working independently, solving problems should they arise. You will have good IT skills, specifically, you will be competent using MS Word and Excel. About the role… Reporting directly into the Operations Manager, you will oversee the planning and programming of the HV outage works, working on a risk-based model. A number of HV outages will need programming week on week and these outages will have to deliver a number of high-risk spans. The role will involve managing a team of engineers and HV outage front runners. This role will be based in Durham, covering Doncaster to Scotland. What will your day look like… Working closely with the Operational Lead. Managing a team of SAPs and HV outage front runners. Producing an effective & efficient programme, consulting with the LV Outage Lead and Live Cut Planner. Cultivating open 2-way communication and building trust within the team. Setting SMART objectives, producing KPIs and working to deadlines. Where applicable, making sure machinery and/or traffic management is booked. Staying compliant with health and safety legislation. About you… You will have minimum of 3+ years’ experience working on High Voltage and / or vegetation management. You will have the ability to decipher and organize a large volume of HV outages using a risk-based model. An excellent communicator, you will be a critical thinker and a problem solver. Taking the initiative, you will have the drive to continually improve and overcome setbacks. You will be IT literate and have a good understanding of HV diagrams, including knowledge of naming and labelling. You will have experience in Project or Programme Management and be able to demonstrate instances of delivering projects to time, cost, and quality. Taking a process-oriented approach, you will also show excellent leadership skills, leading by example. Full job specific training will be available.
