    Hey guys ! got another tree here definatly a cherry tree but is there ang way to tell if its a wild or sour based on the photo below ? if not then what do you suggest, shall i look at the bark or wait to see what it fruits ? and of course if anyone has another suggestion of what it could be very welcome i didn't get the chance to take a photo of the bark or shape from a distance l, so understandable if theres no hope identifying it from the many cherry trees out there i want to say sour due to the lack of fur beneath

    Hello guys back again with a confusing tree I saw on the way to dove stones today (north england) So i took photos eager to look it up in my back this evening however im confused (as always) so the first tree im pretty confident is whitebeam however the second may also be whitebeam but maybe a hybrid ? its not the first time ive seen these two tree growing next to each other, I also came across it on my my to work yesterday morning (Manchester) Has anyone got any ideas what the second tree might be if not whitebeam, surely there both sorbus at the very least ? Ive also tagged another photo on the end that I've not looked up yet in my book … it was just on its own and there was no other kind for miles round, wierd … must be maple family right ?

    Do you mean the collins book ? I use the hamlyn but i dont think its great looking at reviews, I picked it up from a second hand shop a few weeks ago on a whim and fell in love with tree identifying lol still find it impossible though but hopefully ill get there

    Hey guys ive actually just put a post up hre for something else but I also spotted this tree on the way home my book is describing it as an almond willow, I went to the willow section just because of the way it drapes and the long Lancelot length of the leaf, it is described as being on riverbeds soo, maybe. I honestly don't know. The pictures could be better but I couldn't get any closer, i tried to get the shape, leaf shape and bole any ideas guys ?

    Hey guys ! what the hell is this tree, I spotted it walking home, leaves are shine on top and softly serrated, almost rounded with a tip, bole is short and has branches twisting all over the show big give away is the fruit, its dmall and green, tough, possibly some type of fruit in early stages … crab apple ? what you guys think

    I dont annoyingly … theres a very good chance that im getting confused and this tree is indeed the same as the other goat Willows that I've identified .. I will need to go and have a look at some point … have you got any clear indicator that you saw and was like .. “yep … goat willow”

    Thanks for the super fast reply ! Doesn’t goat willow have catkins this time of year ? I only ask because ive been identifying another type of tree as goat willow over the past month, it has catkins with feathery hairs and black tips i dont mean to insult by the way, just trying to learn

    Hey guys another tree here I cant identify, its a tremendous tree and deeply fissured, kinda grows all contorted.type of hazel or poplar, im just saying poplar as the leafs flutter. The bark also exposes a deep redish brown when flaked off any ideas ?

    Also here is a photo from further away, there seems to be a lot of twigs growing up also

    Hello, what is this tree ?!?!? Again my book is letting me down, the new stems seem to sprout off in the multiple directions from the same point and repeat this, i think this is called a whorl ? The leaves are serated pinnette finally toothed and come to a very sharp point. They are also opposite, its the whorl growth that is confusing me. The trunk is thin smooth but has large holes as seen in pictures, I think this is called corking. The twigs have black solid buds on them. They seems to be hairs in yhe main veins also on the underside of the leaf any ideas people … some advice on what kind of pictures to take wouldbe really helpfull

    Is Magnolia a genera ? Any idea which type ? Im guessing thats easier said than done, i dont have magnolia in my book, is it not a common European tree. thanks for your help regardless if im not replied to

    Hello I have this tree and im thinking some type of sallow ? Its not in my book and unusual catkins the catkins are growing up from the end of the branchs and the leaf buds innitally have hairs on them untill they open. The catkins are also hairy at the base. The bark is smooth grey with spots on it Any thoughts ?
