  1. Hello @mattalat, To address the girdling root on your redbud, it's best to cut it out now before it causes further damage. Use a chisel or a sharp tool to carefully remove it. Ensure you water the tree adequately during the hot and dry Texas summer to help it recover. If you're unsure or uncomfortable doing it yourself, consult an arborist. Additionally, you can go through this https://www.reddit.com/r/sfwtrees/comments/tghtbr/redbud_is_girdled_pretty_bad_would_it_be_okay_to_aws/?rdt=56615 for more assistance. Thanks
  2. Hey @AHPP, Why do you think that I am a robot ? Do you have any proof ? It looks like a joke Buddy So don't spread this type of information. I hope you understand now. Thanks
  3. Hey @Stere, I want to thanks to you for sharing these helpful guides. It's clear from the information that tools like secateurs, loppers, pruning saws, and even a ladder or tripod can be handy for pruning neglected or mature apple trees. It's also good to remember about spotting issues like dead branches or canker easily. Fruit thinning, as mentioned, is an important aspect too, ensuring healthy and abundant harvests.
  4. Hi ArbTalk Community, I am searching for some guidance on tree pruning strategies, especially in regards to develop fruit trees. I have a few apple and pear trees in my nursery that need pruning but I'm unsure about the best approach to ensure healthy growth and a good harvest. In particular, I need to be aware: Q.1 What are the suggested pruning practices for mature fruit trees, including timing and frequency? Q.2 How can I identify and safely remove dead or diseased branches without harming the tree? Q.3 Are there any special considerations or techniques for pruning fruit-bearing branches to optimize fruit production? Any experiences, tips, or suggested resources would be greatly valuable. Much thanks to you ahead of time for your skill. Best Regards, Steve
