  1. We have a couple of days where the temps will drop to 25 degrees in the morning for a few hours. Do I need to water my newly planted evergreens before the freeze (planted in August). Was never sure what the proper thing to do....Thanks!
  2. ok thanks! Same with the Japanese Cedar browning that I posted earlier. The browning is on the inside of the tree. Just checking with you all to confirm. Someone here local told me" The tree will shed old needles 2x / year in spring and fall. When the new leaves come out at the tips the tree takes energy away from the inner most leaves and they brown and fall off. The tree is ok." Im just nervous when I see this. I really get attached to these beautiful trees...Thanks again
  3. No....Thats not dead grass. Its pine straw. Heres a pic of the color change on the aborvitaes ....
  4. My next newbie question is about my three 6ft Emerald Green Arborvitaes that were planted this August, but now since the weather is getting much colder here in Tennessee I have noticed some light yellowing and light browning on all three trees. Is there much I can do about this? They have been getting frequent water when planted a few months back. I just want to do everything I can to help them through the Winter. Thanks!
  5. Thanks for info....Since this newly planted Japanese cedar is in the fall and and heading into the winter. What kind of watering frequenting should I be doing. As of now, I have been watering almost everyday since 8/24...Thanks!
  6. Hello, I need some advice with a 15ft. Japanese Cedar Tree that was planted in our backyard on 8/24/23. I have noticed some browning on the lower-inner portion of the tree. The upper part still looks good with green buds at the tips. I'm not sure if this is a normal shock issue or should I be doing something to help its growth. It's been watered a lot in the beginning due to the very hot weather in Tennessee. Here are some pics from the first planting until today. Appreciate any help you can provide....Thanks! Also, Should I be trimming off the brown portions of the tree? First Planting on 8/24 Browning on Lower Half as of Today
