  1. Looking for a link if anyone has one to a pdf workshop manual for the Stihl MS880, I thought we had a copy but I can't find it if we have. Less important but also looking for same for the Echo CS-510 as we recently picked one of those up but I'm wondering if that is too old to find a pdf copy?
  2. So I think I'm going to go with an Echo CS501 but before I do I am going to look out for second hand 3 series Husky 346/357...
  3. Funny you should say that, in the same vein, I had looked for a 3120 but only found a couple of very poor condition ones and one odd ebay listing which wouldn't allow in person collection and something just didn't seem right so I pursued that no further.

  5. Thanks for all the replies. Should probably have said, my use is for firewood at home and the larger saws some milling to make furniture, partly a hobby but a small (but fun) part of my business. I tend towards simpler and I guess old fashioned so features like tool less chain adjustment and auto tune etc aren't really of interest and non metallic clam shells too I suppose. I guess I'm just happy with old school but each to their own. I had bad experience with stihl some years ago so haven't been back so don't know much about their current offerings or indeed customer service. In truth I'd look at any saws in the 45-50cc/ 16-18" ball park, having been happy with my other saws led me to look first at Husky and Echo.
  6. Hi all, New user although I've been browsing here for several years. I'm looking at a new 45-50cc replacement saw. This is to replace an old Husky and a cheapy Titan. My bigger saws are Husqvarna and an Echo so I've been looking at the Husqvarna 450 (or possibly 455?) and Echo CS501. I'm not keen on a clamshell design (is the 450?) and call me old fashioned but I'm not keen on autotune equipped saws like 550 so maybe leaning towards the Echo? Any thoughts and recommendations on either much appreciated...
