I've done my cross cutting and maintenance, and small tree felling tickets, half way through the week of training I met an employer and have got a job to go into next month, getting some tickets opens doors, and is a very good way to meet new contacts

I have camped in the past. I can walk from where I live to the wood in 15 mins so I stick to home comforts! I have a big shed with a stove in it, as I'll often spend the day down there.
Good stuff, be nice burning some oak wood, I used to camp at a place that has some oak trees, the seasoned branch wood was a good slow burner in the firebox

I'm a woodland owner, just over an acre of oak. It's a hobby and I love it. I'm in the Midlands
Sounds nice that mate
Think there's around thirty plots in this wood
There's only two fairly young oaks in here, but there is some impressive mature oaks in other parts of the wood
Do you camp in your wood?
I'm out tonight, think it's going to be a cold one, but nice with the wood stove going

Nice work, but if you are selling timber cut it lower also a nightmare for anyone want to get about in there with tractor.
Cheers WP
No not selling, the wood will be used in here, either as building material, or firewood
I usually cut low then level the stumps off at near ground level, these couple of larch had a twist in the bottom of the trunk, and I thought they might spin off in the wrong direction so cut the notches in a bit higher

Where is it? Looks an interesting project. Are you doing it as a hobby?
It's in Northumberland mate, and it is my interest, I'm not a trained forester, or tree worker, got a background in horticulture, but I'd like to do something in tree work in the future

Reprieve. 1000 metres of Northumberland style just come in only four miles from home.
Noticed some recently laid hedge in Northumberland lately near Longhorsley, good to see, have you had any joy on the chainsaw training, I'm looking to do some training if I can, think they usually like to get a few trainees together to start a course
