Hello everyone, I have a job to remove a large oak trunk/tree it’s about 13M and at the base 1.2M across, I’m thinking an Hiab with a crane boom would be the best option to remove the tree (this way it would only take 10 or so cuts. Let me know if you can help or if you’d recommend a company. job is in woldingham

Hi mark, could you please explain, what I’ve been led to understand is if you take out such a large tree so close to a building, let’s say a 130 year old willow, the about of water that sucks up a day, completely removing it would cause damages to nearby buildings.

Hello everyone, need a bit of advice about removing these 4 trees close to a building, I’ve done 2 or 3 stage takedowns before and am just wondering, would it be best to advise the client on talking down 2 to begin with and the another 2 a year or so on.

It’s a lovely garden and a well kept house so doubt they’ll want 6 ton of wood left on site, I’ve now let it go, I said to the client for a finalised quote would cost £200 and he could be looking at 8-12k in total £200 just so he doesn’t waste my time and about 4k profit for the stress it would cause me. I feel like contacting him in a couple of months to see how it’s been dealt with maybe I’m not seeing the full picture. Been doing this for 11 years now but every day is a leaning day. I’ll keep you guys posted 👍

I thought about seeing the sizes on thin tracked mewp but there’s 2 right angles. had a conversation with the client today and some superstar has priced him a £2000. Good luck to him 🥶 bigger balls than me

I’d climb the trunk but limb walking the 15M long limb, rigging and felling large limbs is a no go

Thankyou for all the replies, it’s in a very nice garden 200m away from the front house, so crane the mewp in and drive the mewp to the end of garden. No wall to remove, about 7 gardens away from other access

Hello everyone. I have a job where it’s a 22M oak that’s been left to rot thats 100% unclimbable and there are 2 out houses underneath it. my question is can you lift a large mewp by a crane on a public road over the house into a back garden?

Thankyou for your feed back, any advice is good advice unlike the pointless comment above 👍 Im just exploring different avenues as I learn how to run a company, I’m currently paying around £600 a month in advertisements and that generates £3000 income , not profit a month but if I’m going to invest on a truck and chipper in this stage I need that to go up to £4500 a month. Other than heavily advertising can you recommend anything that I could try to do to gain another days work a week ?

Hello everyone I’ve been setting up my company since January and now fully operational, I’m getting 2 days of work per week now and I’m at the stage of thinking to buy/lease a truck chipper and storage to keep them safe. to go forward I’d need to sub of other company’s to maintain a profit and whilst I build up my own customer base, without name dropping there’s a few obvious companies that do this in the area I’m based , south east of England. can anyone give me a rough figure on what type of money I could get a day for doing this. I’m estimating £400 - £800 Also can anyone give me any insight on how they coped working for other companies 👍 much appreciated.

Hello all, I am wondering if there’s any good company’s or individuals that rent out truck and chippers, I’m planning to start on my own this year but before I buy a truck and chipper I’d like to rent one for a month or two. does anyone have any suggestions?
