Hi all,
New user who is baffled by new saw (to me). I Found this Stihl ms 180 c saw in the trash when I was dumping some of my own. I pulled it from the bin jerked the rope and it started right up. After I let it sit in storage for several months I tried again and to my dismay when i put on full choke it will run for a few seconds but the choke lever jumps up to the zero position and it stops. I just can't get that lever to stay on the run position. I've pulled it apart but can't see what is causing it.
Also, the bar wasn't in the bin with the saw. What is the longest bar for this model saw. I took an 18" one off another saw but it seemed out of sorts on the ms180. Of course, the saw wasn't running, that may have made it seem out of sorts.
