  1. I’ve got a customer with a cherry tree that was planted about 10 years ago - she said it flowered really early and had now started to die back. The top of the tree still has green on but the lower branches have dead leaves with small suckers growing back. Any ideas ?

  2. Yeh I have seen there are a fair few jobs kicking about and I’m certainly not waiting for “the world to beat a path to my door” - as I said I’m just looking for anyone that has any advice or something useful to say about avoiding pitfalls of the process or good company’s to work for ect.

  3. Hi all,

I'm just wanting any advice or contacts for working in Australia, I'm hoping to go out January 2024 and work for around a full year. I will of been climbing for two years by then and hoping to get a climbing position out there which I think will be massively beneficial for me and my career progression. I was looking at somewhere on the East coast Queensland/new south wales. Any advice, contacts or (hopefully) any company out there that might be interested or anything really would be massively appreciated!

  6. i cant comment on pfanner trousers as never had them - but i wear my arbortect type As (breathflex pros) nearly everyday/climbing and on the ground and cant fault them the kevlar/protective outer coating on the legs are very robust survived a few hits with a silky and not even marked them, also embers off a fire( drying out after a long wet day) and that didn't even damage them which i was surprised about. hope this helps

  7. Afternoon, thought i would stick my two cents in as a relatively new climber (5 months in since passing my  climbing tickets). So i've work with saws and forestry side of things for 5-6 years so i wasn't completely clueless - only when it came to climbing. When i first started climbing i must admit i was fairly uncomfortable with the height and the two lines helped me feel more at ease. However as i've done more and more climbing i got used to and fairly comfortable with the height. I think it should be completely up to the climber as its your life on the line and as everyone points out each tree is completely different and cant be covered under one blanket rule - in big trees ( spread wise), i find using two lines allows myself to find a much more stable position when working. However in smaller trees two lines can get hugely confusing and almost dangerous, as i've found its much harder to spot a crossloaded biner or a gate on a biner that has got caught on one of the four lines that comes back to your bridge, which especially for a brand new climber who has a million things going through there head isn't going to help the situation let alone in an emergency. I know i've got a long way to go and only just started my career in this industry just  thought that my humble opinion might offer a different view point from you lads that have been climbing for far more years than myself.

  9. Good evening,

I am looking for work in the North Yorkshire area, based near boroughbridge (I am self-employed and would be on that basis). I hold CS30,31, and i have my assessment for my CS38 ticket in two days. I have worked on estates and farms all my working life doing a fair amount of forestry and tree work, however now looking to really get involved in tree work as my full time job. I am polite, work hard and no stranger to long hours, if you have any work be it the odd few days here and there or something more steady please don't hesitate to contact me, thank you for taking the time to read this.
