  1. So in the end I got a sew coil and flywheel off a dolmar stone saw. I did have to make a spacer because the flywheel was rubbing on the pull start spool. But I do have spark now.
  2. I ordered some Chinese bits and they didn’t work. How about a 309 dolmar coil and flywheel?
  3. I don’t think in this case it would work as I believe the coil is kaput.
  4. So what are my options?
  5. With the module fitting and the piece that was removed. The continuity issue is from the grey wire or anywhere on that piece which I presume is the coil, up to the spark plug boot. The spark plug wire itself is fine as I unscrewed it and checked.
  6. I’ll got take some pictures but I definitely know it’s a two pawl starter
  7. So my coil packed in. Continuity up the plug lead is good as is the kill switch wire. I’ve tried the Oregon module replacement but it still doesn’t spark. I think the coil is knackered, ive no continuity from the coil up the spark plug lead. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement? I’ve searched high and low but no joy.
  8. The issue is that with the saw been older than a Husqvarna rifle they no longer make them.
  9. Good evening. Will any newer saw clutches fit a 285cd? The drum is good but the actual clutch is goosed.

    266se cylinder

Both cylinders have transfers in the walls as oppose to the base by the look of them.

    266se cylinder

So if I were to port it the windowed would be the better option as it increases flow.

    266se cylinder

I’m a little confused. The first cylinder is 50mm bore with a solid piston whereas the third is 50mm with a piston that has windows. Why the difference?
  13. Can I swap a 266 cylinder and piston for a 268 combo? I know the covers are different but everything after the cylinder will be off the 266 saw. Do I need a 268 intake block though? The only reason I’m doing this is availability, I can get a meteor 268 but not a 266.

They can always shut their windows. 😉
