The joys of buying second hand equipment...lol do you think this would cause the problems with stalling after coming off full throttle ?

Hi people have finally got some trees lined up to cut for firewood they have been like hens teeth so took the carb off the husqvarna 555 today and this is what I found there is I link rod missing between the throttle and bottom butterfly it’s not lying in the saw could people that know the saw run there eye over the pictures and see if anything else is missing or if it has been modified thanks k

Well after reading some comments on this site about fuel mix and types of oil I thought I’d try some petrol from a different shop and I bought a litre of fully synthetic 2 stroke mixed and tried it in the saw today and still the same problem so will try a carb kit over Easter holidays

I have a husqvana 50 and the 555 has way loads more compression when starting it, saw has a yellow air filter and saw gets cleaned with the airline after use filter gets cleaned from inside out with air, weather permitting on Saturday will try it on fast idle for a few minutes cut some wood and see how it goes checked on line and L&S Engineers sell a carb kit and will order air filter form them instead of the eBay special, thanks everyone for the help and advice

Hi I removed the exhaust today to just check the the piston and ring and and all looks grand see pic. I’ll order a carb repair kit is there much to removing the carb on this saw anything I need to watch out for? Thanks for all the advice so far

Hi new to this so I bought a good clean second hand husqvarna 555 about a year ago the saw starts and has plenty of compression but when I come off full throttle it just dies and will not idle I have changed the spark plug and air filter tried to calibrate it by letting it idle for 3 minutes and run the tip in wood for 3 minutes still no good is there anything I can do myself or is it a dealer job
