  1. Thanks will steer clear if I do build my own
  2. Thanks for all responses. Will have another look into wood sheds then but without felt roofs 👍
  3. West mids
  4. Thanks for all responses. Any suggestions on makes of sheds then. will have a look into the flat packs. my plan is to have the shed up off the slabs
  5. As the title says looking for shed recommendations. Looking at either 6x8 or 8x8 , I’ve been looking at metal sheds as most likely will be put on a slabbed area and I like the idea of not needing to keep treating a wooden shed. any recommendations would be great thanks in advance
  6. Thanks for the reply’s will definitely be looking into what you have suggested. 👌
  7. Thanks for the reply. I will take a look at the Mikita. I used an echo multi tool a few years ago and was impressed
  8. That’s great mate thanks for all the info. yeah I mean grass trimmer rather than a brush cutter. I will look out for those makes
  9. Cheers will take a look at there full range
  10. As the title says looking for recommendations on a small hedge cutter and strimmer. Mainly for works around my property. But potentially will have some maintenance work at some local property’s that will require them. I had been looking at battery husky stuff but friends of mine recommended second hand stihl petrol stuff off market place for a couple hundred less. I’ve only ever used petrol, but for the infrequency of work, I thought battery would be better and also can never be too sure with secondhand stuff any thoughts or recommendations would very welcome
  11. So far that’s what I’ve been doing as do love my boots and potentially might keep doing it. Just wanted to see what other options and potentially any cheaper ones there are so hopefully my chainsaw boots might last longer. cheers
  12. Brilliant thanks guys will take a look at those suggestions
  13. Hi everyone As the title says I’m after a pair of non chainsaw protective work boots. Currently I wear my Meindl Airstream‘s all the time but doing less and less chainsaw work recently. Ideally after a pair of waterproof boots with a steel toe. Something similar to the Meindl Airstream with out the chainsaw protection would be ideal. A lot of my work recently is walking around people land and estates as well as tree planting ( not forestry spec rather groups or individual larger trees) and some hard landscaping work. Just wondering what others wear and any recommendations. Many Thanks
  14. Hi Got to look at my old flip line yesterday, for those interested it is the same thickness as my new one which I was thought was the case. The only differences I can see is that the out layer of the line looks as if it is a slightly different material to the new one, also due to its age it’s rougher which maybe the reason it grips easier in the rope grab. I’ve got a small tree job coming up which I will use the new one on to try it out. As people have commented I think the grab is working fine just slightly differently to how I am used to. Thanks for all the comments and ideas. many thanks
  15. Grab says 10.5mm-13mm so should be fine for the line. When I can get hold of the old one which will probably be next week I will check. There are a few types of grab from isc so maybe I had a different one on the old line or the line could be different.
  16. Thanks for the reply’s John annoyingly don’t have the old one currently but hopefully I can get it next week and and measure it so I can compare the two as I never had any of these issues with that one. Mick I can confirm it still works if the wire is broken as it went on my old one and that worked fine. When I put weight on the cam does work better but now and again it still is slipping which isn’t ideal. Timon thanks for sharing your set up. The reason I got the grab was I had found it before to be easy sadly this one isn’t playing ball!
  17. Thanks for the reply’s didn’t expect it end up like this. All advice is welcome. I have used the grab before on an older flip line and always found it worked great that’s why I was surprised when putting this one together. I have loaded the grab at it still slips, I’m going to contact the shop and the manufacturer for advice. Also there is no way I will be testing at any height if I’m not 100% happy that it is working properly. What do most people these days use for there flip lines as I’ve only ever used wirecore lines?
  18. Thanks John, don’t worry I won’t be using it any height if I’m not 100% sure about it. I’ve got a pull up bar that I might hang from with the harness. I did double check when I brought it that it was the right one for the line but think I might give them a call when they are back open. I like how with a rope grab you can just pull the tail of the line up to make it tighter which I can’t see you being able to with a friction hitch. thanks for the reply
  19. Thanks hopefully your right. I did try it under load ( don't have my harness with me so just held the two cabs and hung on it from pull up bar ) i was still able to move it, though not as easily. Wish i had my old flipline as i was sure i couldn't move the grab down like that on it. Fingers crossed once its on the harness its all good
  20. Hi everyone, hope everyone had a good Christmas. feel like a bit of an idiot for having to ask this one, awhile back I bought a new flip line kit ( 13mm steel core flip line and a isc rope grab 10.5mm -13mm) this grab was recommended for that line and I have used them before. I never got round to putting it all together as I got a new job and didn’t need it. Today I decided to put it together as I have a few of my own jobs coming up but as the video shows I must’ve put it together wrong as I can move the grab down just by holding the outside which is obviously no good. IMG_7147.MOV Does anyone have an idea of what I’ve done wrong hopefully it’s just me being stupid! Any help would be great many thanks
