Thanks all, thought as much - just wasn't sure if there was a catch with hmrc

Hey just a quick one
Been buying logs and coal at 20% vat as a reseller
Not charged vat onwards as not registered
My question is..
I am looking at becoming vat registered as I can claim the 20% vat back and charge 5% onwards to customers burning domestic. Then I can submit a vat claim and will be owed money bsck by hmrc is that correct?
Thanks

Yeah it will be for my use mainly, and for the odd friend. Thanks for the replies, was just checking its not an issue and over time the kindling will become worse hopefully get it nice and dry over summer. Cheers

Hello
Storm damage brought down a pine, so split it into kindling for in prep for next winter, i dont have much storage so i netted it so easier to stack in the garage. stacked up and in a dry garage its started to go white fur, mold.
I was going to chuck them outside in the summer when we get a good full weeks worth of sun to bake in the nets and then store them back inside.
I presume this will disappear once they start to dry, as freshly cut and made into kindling so high water content?
or am i best just cutting them open and chucking them in a wooden crate outside with a tarp on top and letting them dry out that way and net them later in the summer for ease to carry them in and to give to friends etc.
Thanks Sean -
Well reasonably priced 😂 been burning and selling alder recently which is okay. But back on oak at the moment as it's so much better.

Hey!
Cut up a load of fresh pine into kindling and put into nets as easier for now due to having nothing to store it in. Was going to leave it in my garage over winter stacked up and then in the summer bring it out when the weather's good for 1-2 weeks off sunshine. It should be dry enough for winter then I hope...
And hoping as its only out in direct sunshine for 1-2 weeks nets won't degrade and fall about
Anyone done it in nets before or is it more hassle?
Thanks
Thanks

Morning
Hope you all had a good break!
I resell smokeless coal and kiln log nets, this years been tough getting decent stock at a good price with the 20% reseller vat and finding anyone with ash or OAK in stick all the time. I want to order a few pallets at a time. I am based in the North West
Any one get any suggestions apart from the main top Google firewood suppliers?
Thanks
