I used some cheap NOT smokeless coal that I had and some dry old scrap timber.
I have a 6 inch - 5 inch reducer and the flue is a section of 139mm OD steel tube and a 90 degree bend through the wall

Hi all, bought my first multi stove to heat the garage. I did a test burn last night and I thought it didnt burn as well as others that Ive seen. One thing that struck me was that the 6 inch outlet is largely blocked on the inside of the stove by a "bent " cast iron plate that spans the top of the stove on the inside. Does this sound like the normal set-up?

I got sorted, the flue had baffles welded in so it would act more as heat-exchanger but I cut those out and its much better now.
