  1. I have a beautiful young Acer tree, but it appears to have a Sycamore growing on one side. I believe this is the root stock, and the orange coloured acer is grafted on. My question is, do i need to be worried about the sycamore side? Ideally i'd love a tree which is half and half... but i'm worried that the sycamore might damage the tree and cause the acer side to die? Is the only problem due to the sycamore growing faster and overshaddowing the other side? In which case, could i just keep pruning the sycamore side? Or does the whole sycamore side need to come off to save the Acer tree? Images: Many thanks!
