Hi guys, new to the forum here and after a bit of advice.
Have just stripped down my 372 - non x torq - that has been running fine since I bought it (ebay a few years back), though needs an overhaul now.
It was in good nick when I bought it, didn't appear to have had much use etc.
Anyway I took the cylinder off to replace the piston ring and noticed there's no gasket between the cylinder and crankcase. There's no sign of any liquid seal or anything, just metal to metal.
So my question is- firstly is there any reason why someone would intentionally remove the gasket? Or is it likely someone has rebuilt and forgotton to replace? And secondly should I rebuild as is (maybe with some liquid gasket) or just fit an oem one and rebuild?
Cheers

Ok, thanks for the replies - I'll fit a gasket and see how the saw runs. Piston and cylinder are both perfect, and saw has been well used in that state for at least 3 years, so very lucky I guess!!
