If money is no object decide EXACTLY what you want/need and work back from there (and potentially get it built)!
What are you doing with it? Do you need crane speed or ultimate lifting capability? Are you using it in first thinnings/clearfell/clearing up behind arb teams etc? Does it need to be road legal? What are you dragging it around with? Do you need to be able to carry 6/10/20 tonnes on it? Does it need to float across soft ground?

I appreciate this is not really an answer, but I need to do it all. We are predominantly arb work but we are picking up more work which requires lifting capacity for the likes of oak. It will be going on a T series Valtra with Jake frame then a drive trailer on the back.

About

Arbtalk.co.uk is a hub for the arboriculture industry in the UK.
If you're just starting out and you need business, equipment, tech or training support you're in the right place.  If you've done it, made it, got a van load of oily t-shirts and have decided to give something back by sharing your knowledge or wisdom,  then you're welcome too.
If you would like to contribute to making this industry more effective and safe then welcome.
Just like a living tree, it'll always be a work in progress.
Please have a look around, sign up, share and contribute the best you have.

See you inside.
