  1. Thanks - I found it - interesting Fire out - next step - bricks out and baffle out - then look for for two bolts Thanks for everyone's help
  2. Thanks for this - its going to be a Sunday morning exploration job. I've seen the collar on the web if I need a replacement. Do you have a link to the earlier forum conversation? Might help. Also - should there be a SEALANT (rope or fire sealant) betwwn the stove top and the collar? I guess there should?
  3. I can see the 2 small screws on this exploded drawing - I'll have a go at finding them tomorrow (in the light). Few more questions (and thanks for helping) 1. I'm guessing the collar should have 2 x female threaded parts? chances are the bolts / screws would have sheared off and I won't be able to get them out. In that case is it possible to take collar off of flue so I can get it into a workshop to retap the collar? 2. or would it be simpler to replace the collar (part 44140921) and flue piece?
  4. I think I too might need a 5mm rope - I'll try again - thanks
  5. I’m thinking of buying some 7mm rope - and trying again but I have no idea what I should be doing with the flue. Where to start?
  6. Tried to shut door straight away after putting in new rope - but it didn’t want to close. I took rope out and tried door again with no rope - shuts fine (but obviously loose). Just put rope along top and bottom edge to see if door would close - and it just about did - but it’s not right. haven’t got a clue what’s going on
  7. Hi we have an oldish Morso Squirrel burner (20 years old) Lit this year and glass cracked managed to get old glass out (with some help from some heat) and only had to retap 1 bolt New glass installed - but I noticed the rope seal was going “home” so removed old rope - wire brushed etc - new cement - new 8mm rope - but door now won’t close - and because I punched against the stove so hard - the flue has become lose. Oh woe oh woe. So I’m looking for advice 1 . Any reasons why door won’t close once new 8mm rope installed; and (even more worrying) 2. What do I need to do about the lose flue? any advice (or pointers) appreciated The flue can sit centrally on the stove; I moved it to show problem Richard
