Nope he had no credible explanation. First he said he wants back saw on original condition or no refund and that he has record of all parts. I then said you getting saw back in better condition. I also asked for the serial number as he keeps records to which he did not reply. However, he did say all his saws are authentic and that he gets them all from Stihl Germany ?

So quick update, I have reported the saw stolen to eBay and in the process of getting my money back. Although I won’t get money back for the service and replacement parts, at least il get something back. I will be putting the saw on sale, to recoup costs and will be buying a new 550xp mk2 as I should have done from day one. I have also informed the police who said it can’t be traced so, they said just keep it same with eBay.

As long as it’s not dangerous, it will be ok for me. the clutch cover that came with the saw was orange. My dad replaced it with a silver one from lse. last time I buy second hand could have got a brand new one for less after all the replacements! oh well you learn your lesson the hard way. it will be a hot saw as no other reason to take the serial off.

Hi All, Used my chainsaw today for the first time cutting a small old dirty tree that was felled a few years ago, for my friend. I spent a few mins looking for primer bulb then realised it dont have one, by this time i pulled so many times i flooded engine ?♂️ Chainsaw has had a new bar, chain, sprocket and clutch fitted. This was all done by a local dealer. I opened it up, it looked very daunting to attempt a DIY. Surprisingly chain became dull very quickly to a point, where it was just merely making a groove in the wood. I have just tried to sharpen it just now, hopefully have done a alrigh job, after watching countless youtube videos and reading post on this forum. Would just like to say a huge thank you to everyone for all the help and advice.
