If the engine runs better without the air filter fitter then with it suggests the engine is running a little on the lean side, start by opening the L jet by 1/8th anti clockwise from the current setting.

It’s bollocks, if we just skip as normal, everything stays normal, but it’s the paranoid mrs miggins buying 3 loafs for herself that causes the shortages, anyway rant over, it’s Friday, lets get in the pub (before 10)

So my old (2012) predator 38x went to the shop a few weeks back, only to be told that the engine is PROBABLY knackered. They gave an indicative quote of around 4k for them to source and replace the Kohler.
So does anybody here want a project and happen to have a Kohler sitting in their garage, and at what sort of price to sell?? Or do I find a cheap Kohler (much around?) And try to get it going?
Where about are you mate? Mentioned it to the lads at work and they can’t work out £1500 for a days labour -
I run an 044 with a 20” bar, does bog down on harder woods, but for an old saw quite happy doing a few hours every week or so, a nice saw for the money if you get a decent deal on flee bay.
Electric log splitters

I know Dirt monkey on YouTube did a comparison of hydraulic/kinetic/axe and found the kinetic to be fast on straight stuff but poor on knotted stuff. I’ve used the smaller electric splitters like linked below and found it faster to split with a good axe.
