Hi Eric,
i work with a new software called TreePlotter JOBS, we're running a free trial until for a couple more weeks, if you'd like to give it a go - you can write estimates and send them from site, keep an inventory of your trees (if you've got estates and need to keep the database of the site), client info, sending quotes to client as a PDF or directly, print out invoices. and keep photos of your trees on the cloud. Still young in it's development compared to Arb Pro but give it a go and see if you like it. I hear from some users it's also more sleek in comparison to AP.
Certainly any type of software which will enable you to write quotes while you're on site will definitely save you time and will eventually pay off as you become more efficient - so I've presented you another option which you can consider in your search to digitize your work process.? have a play on www.treeplotter.com/tryjobs
EDIT : It's down for the next 2-3 days because we're implementing stronger security but it should be up end of the week. I'll come back and edit this once its up
let me know if you'd like a tutorial on it

Just wondered what accounts app people are using? Basically something to create customer files, track mileage, send and track invoices, snap receipts, calculate VAT etc.
The 2 that seem to come up first are Quickbooks and Freshbooks. Freshbooks claims to be better for service based businesses.
Basically I am looking for an app that will get rid of paper and: easily crate new customer file, allow quotes to be written and sent on site, track jobs until payment, record expenses and allow easy quarterly and end of year tax calculations to be made.
Any one found a really good, simple and functional one for small tree surgery companies?
Hi, I'm currently working with a team to customize TreePlotter JOBS for this kind of thing - let me know if you want more info or a tutorial over zoom. you can set up an account here (www.treeplotter.com/tryjobs) there is a limited free trial

Hi all, this thread is a bit old but I didn't want to saturate the forum.
You can sign up for this now and use it for a couple of weeks as beta testers (free for a period of time)- let me know if you'd like a 20 min intro to it over video call just email me or text me and i'll set it up and we can discuss issues, feature and so on.

Hello everyone!
I'm posting here because I know some of you do consultancy, BS5837 surveys and risk surveys. I'm going to be running & presenting a series of webinars on 21st, 28th July and 4th August. It would be awesome if you showed up just to see how surveying can be web based and user friendly! It is also my very first time doing webinars so I will have loads to learn as well. These webinars will have guests as well who already use the app, from small and large consultancies and we will be having a live discussion on how they use the software so please log on with us and ask any questions you might have!
Hope to see you all there! here is the link to register

Thought so and you have come to the best place (Good luck) ? just hope some of the windbag posters do not spoil this thread as there are a couple who tend to hijack things and it really does spoil things (Trigger and eggs) Those guys are not making a living in the arb industry which is what this thread requires for the feedback your looking for.
Thank you

Hi!
if you're a tech-savvy arborist and have been looking to use a system which makes things easy to manage in terms of your business, contacts, jobs and invoicing, please message me (info below). I'm looking for a group of people who would provide input and share experiences on what they would look for in a jobs management system. It's called TreePlotter JOBS and is currently available in the US but they're looking to expand into the UK market and that is why your experience and input matters. Ideally I'm looking for someone who is excited about tech, keeps themselves updated on the latest gadgets and is generally keen on to make their lives easier w/ the help of software etc.email me at [email protected] or call me at 07858639023 and we can have a preliminary chat
I'm not trying to sell anything, just would love input/feedback on how TreePlotter JOBS can be the best it can for the UK Arborists!
Many thanks

Hi,
I work with TreePlotter which is a tree management software and we're going to roll out a TreePlotter JOBS program which aims to be able to do the things you mentioned. Can I call or email you?

Try TreePlotter. It's from the US - but they've developed a BS5837 component.

Hey, I worked there for a whole year.
WSP is a Canadian company and they've been basically buying up all the consultants around, you may remember them as Parsons Brinkerhoff - probably around 7000 employees in the UK - civil engineers, architects, ecologists, air quality guys, etc etc.
they're huge.
They do projects nationally, one of their major clients is HS2, Network Rail, Highways England, some bigger county councils and so on- basically large scale work that needs to be done on the cheap
The Arb team is probably still very tiny (up to 10 people) so I guess they do rely on subbies quite a bit.
Good place to work for if you're looking for an exponential learning curve.
Let me know if you have any questions
