  1. Hybrid black poplar was exactly what I was thinking when doing some research. These are not common here in Ireland at all. Is the wood from these good for anything?
  2. Calling all dendrologists. Have a tree to take down. I believe it to be a a type of poplar, just dont know what type. Any help appreciated. Is the wood good for anything? Thanks in advance.
  3. Yea 100%. This was similarly done with Japanese larch in the past too. Was in a 30 year old stand today. The Sitka spruce has completely outcompeted the larch and most of the larch were standing deadwood. If the stand were 15 years old, the larch would be standing a meter or so taller than the spruce.
  4. Cheers for the help guys. Looks like I'll be going for the pine 👍
  5. Its north costal lodgepole so it shouldn't be too knotty

  10. Hi, I need some help fixing my husqvarna 550xp. It starts for a few seconds and then cuts out. I tore it down a bit and the plastic film behind the sprial diaphragm is ripped so I'm assuming that to be the problem. It's a walbro at-12 carb and I cant seem to find the walbro carb kit for the saw. Can anybody tell me what carb kit to get? I'm in Ireland by the way. Thanks in advance.

    Hilti dsh 700

Hello, I'm aware this is a concrete saw but I didn't know which forum to write into. I recently acquired a hilti dsh 700 and the fuel hoses are cracked and worn. I can't find any information online about the inner and outer diameters of the fuel hose. If anyone can help me, it would be much appreciated

    Stihl 028

Both sides gone I'm afraid. Did a bit of reading and I read a forum piece that you can modify a 036 exhaust in some way? Don't know how true this is as I could only find it in one place.

    Stihl 028

Hi, Have an old Stihl 028 and the exhaust gave with rust. I'm looking all over and can't seem to find one. Does any place do them or do any other exhausts from other chainsaws fit the 028? Any help greatly appreciated.
