The role
We are recruiting for Arborist ‘s to join Amey in providing vegetation management services to our client - The Northern Power Grid. This an exciting opportunity with great benefits for anyone wanting to start out in a new career as full training is provided.
Key account abilities
Carry out arboricultural tasks contributing to an efficient combined voltage programme of tree clearance, within prescribed timescales
To establish maximum economical tree clearances from all electrical equipment
Pruning and site tidy up in line with BS3998 2010 and completion of data records with an educated recut estimation
Adhere to all relevant legislation pertaining to tree management in relation to power line clearance, including; Tree Preservation Orders, Conservation Area restrictions and European Protected Species
Landowner management including; adhering to the agreed access and egress routes, work prescription as detailed on the work pack and maintaining effective communication with landowners when on the work site
Ensure through effective communication, between Team members, Supervisors, Surveyors and Management
completion of daily personal dynamic risk assessment and whereabouts reporting
Monitor and report to Supervisors, all PPE and equipment requirements including daily vehicle checks
Extensive travel throughout the North East of England and Yorkshire. (Vehicle provided)
Any additional relevant work deemed necessary by your supervisor
Skills & experience
Full training provided
Full current driving licence
Good communicator
Proactive approach to work
Good team player
Must have a full, current, valid driving licence
Computer literate. Experience with an iPad
Desirable
Working knowledge of BS3998 2010 and other relevant legislation
Practical Arboricultural experience
City & Guilds NPTC Units 201,202,203,206,306,307,308. (Old units CS30-CS40)
City & Guilds NPTC UA2.1, 2.2, 2.3
