Henchman are great. They have the platform step which I don't think ordinary hendon ones do, and it's a good feature. 8' one is best thing I ever bought. Triple adjustment a must.

I agree with what's been said but personally I'd get on and prune it hard. Cut out all the dead and make the best of what is left, unless it's just too ridiculous. If it shows sign of recovery then encourage it a bit by mulching, feeding, whatever's appropriate to the situation. I have seen one come back well very surprisingly and the sooner you act the better. If it doesn't recover then scrap it, but might as well give it a chance. See what the customer says first obviously, but it sounds a poor specimen at the moment.

Photodermatitis is the medical term for this. It's the sunlight activating the sap to cause an allergic reaction. It can be really bad, a neighbour of mine got it from parsnip foliage and it affected him seriously for at least 2 years. Said it ruined his life. Ended up having sunbed treatments of increasing length to get him back to some sort of normality. If I was you I would be extra careful to cover up when strimming any umbellifers from now on as reactions can get increasingly worse. (Not to scaremonger, but just be aware.)

Might not be abandoned. Have a look in a few days and see if there's any more. They don't start incubating until they've laid all they're going to.
