What advice if any would you give to someone who's about to employ someone for the first time?
I've come across a mega keen lad who is already a proven grafter, but I've never employed anyone "on the books" before. Thanks in advance.
At present I can offer him 3 days a week plus one paid course per month until he's fully ticketed- He will be earning more in the three days than he does with his his current employer over six days. He's not the college type but very practical and willing to stick his head in books. I'm mega keen not to cock up and either lose him but at the same time I don't want to have the piss taken out of myself.

If your going to spend money on a twenty year old chipper and intend to keep it buy new and go for a rebuild or why not sell for spares, if it’s not good enough to make money breaking is it really worth putting a flywheel on? You must of had your money out of it
Yeah you're dead right, it owes us nothing, and its a great little back up machine- I actually prefer it when working alone for its lightness, its dead easy to move. Have just ordered a brand new flywheel and bearings, anvils and blades.

We gave it a full weeks abuse chucking in dead hard 4 inch conifer to try and finish a back garden job, it's never skipped a beat in 20 years prior. To be fair when you look at the flywheel, it's inherently weak- unlike a 150 which has 4 inch offset blades, this thing has two massive gaps with very little meat.

Sorry if this is in the wrong section.
Would anyone happen to be breaking a TW or Entec 18/100 before I order a brand new flywheel from Timberwolf at 500 quid. I think the flywheel is the same on the PTO gravity feed they did too.

Afternoon,
Our usual source of work is drying up fast due to our usual clients not allowing contractors on sites and I'm keen to keep myself and one other going so looking for work in North Yorkshire/ North East. We have a truck/ chipper, a decent array of kit and just about every certificate in the book between us. We are happy doing Arb, forestry, site maintenance fencing etc- just looking to fill days.
Thanks,

Good afternoon,
Could someone please confirm whether or not an AONB is subject to a 211 notice of intent to carry out tree works in a conservation area or not? I have conflicting information.
Also I'm assuming this would be submitted to LA planning dept if so?
Many thanks in advance,
Nath
