  1. Ooo and have the song 'pink fluffy unicorns dancing on ranbows' from radio 1 as the advertisement song haha
  2. Kevlar fluffy socks....hmmmm that would be interesting ?
  3. Dammit I was sure fluffy socks do the full class 3 protection, back to the Internet search! :-P
  4. I found a few for size 6, which even though too big are a class 2 and cheaper than the size 5. I'm thinking very fluffy socks. Thank you everyone for the links
  5. So I have been lucky enough to get some work experience with a Tree surgeon company. Only downside is due to having small feet and being a short arse I do need to get my own boots and trousers Do size 5 chainsaw boots actually exist, without costing the earth? (i'm very broke and also trying to safe to do my chain saw course too) Thankfully screwfix do do short legged chainsaw trousers woot! Any advice?
  6. Awesome, thank you! I have done aerial rescue before, but just with high ropes, so that course sounds like a lot of fun! I know the college of Derby do weekend chainsaw courses too. I will definitely look into Ian Morgan Arb. Thank you
  7. Hello everyone! First post, but been lurking on this site a while, so thought best to pick your brains. I am a Aerial Acrobat and been wanting to change careers. Tree surgeon has taken my eye for a while, kinda mixes my love of being in the air and working on set construction. I contacted Derby college regarding the apprenticeships they run with Arboriculture. Though they can't offer much information until I secure a workplace, as they say the way apprenticeships run changes so frequently. Is this realistic, do tree surgeon companies offer this? I have no training apart from in Aerial Rigging, so not even sure if anyone would take me on, as every job I have seen requires experience. Though I have to start somewhere, was thinking of doing a few weekend courses once I have some money saved. The month long fast track courses do look tempting, but very pricey, but also don't it is very wise rushing learning and cramming that much information in the space in a month isn't great, hence why an apprenticeship would make more sense. So any advice from you all to this complete newbie would be greatly appreciated
