When was this and where did you hire it from? Was it a 750kg petrol with the new stress control? The 750kg has only been out two months.
I installed the first machine to GA Plant Hire Swindon.

It’s a completely different machine to the 2019/2020 over 750kg petrol Evo and Evo diesel. Different chassis, different flywheel, different stress control system. Same Vanguard 37HP EFI engine.

I have gone toe to toe with the ST6P multiple times in the past couple of months and the last 4 deals have come our way.

Tomorrow I am out with the Evo 165 750kg. We were supposed to be having a head to head with the  ST6P and Evo 165 750kg. But Forst have brought their demo forward two hours. I shall get there early and try get some side by side videos ?

Not sure as a mate sorted the hire, but was from swindon.

Not too sure about the new stress control features either tbh. Kept on stalling on bigger timber and lost a ton of time unblocking the thing!

Do you want a 6" or 8" machine?

The GreenMech EVO 165 26hp diesel will go toe to toe performance wise with the TW230 diesel and ST6 diesel no problem. And at the moment, while stocks last of tier 3A engines you can get a 45hp non DPF Kubota Turbo Diesel GreenMech EVO 165 on tracks or road tow.

Julian, the regional sales manager lives on your doorstep too. I have attached a brochure for you...

    GreenMech_EVO165_45_Leaflet.pdf 2.06 MB · 4 downloads

I beg to differ. We have a new Forst ST6 petrol on order, hired the new GM evo 165 to see how it performed but it ran like a wet fart compared!  Kept on stalling anf pully tensioner for the hydraulic pump came loose causing issues!  Personally I think the EVO 165 would qualify to go toe to toe with a TW 13/75G but not a st6p?.

Sonds dodgy, but depends on factors. How much of a pull witll you need to exert? Of what is the house constructed? What kind of anchor? If we're talking rawlbolts, you can Googe the load rating of different bolts, resin, conpression sleeve etc. If you spread the load between several bolts equally, via a series of pullies, it will help. But also need to consult engineering info about the load rating of substrate etc. Rawlbolts are pretty strong, I've pulled a big stone out a creek bed with one drilled in, with a chain hoist suspended from a nearby tree. It all depends on the load. If it's to just get a small leaner over, and the line angle is optimal, the load won't be that much.

By which time u may as well just get a proper ground anchor?

  4. Hi all
I'm after a hedge trimmer to help tame our 100m x 3m of holly hedge. I've currently got a cheapy Screwfix pole cutter which works surprisingly well but there are areas where it's too unwieldy so need a handheld units as well.
We only cut the hedge once a year (at best)  by which time some of the shoots have grown to a decent thickness so am more interested in a machine that will have the grunt to get through it in preference to quality of cut.
Would like something a bit better than the Screwfix offering but ideally want to keep it under £200. Happy to go second hand but there are so many models from Stihl\Echo etc that I'm totally confused as to what one would suit best.
So what would you guys recommend??

    Thanks

I have a used pair of Stihl HS45 cutters up for sale...well maintained and in good working order. Lmk if you are interested and I can send pics/prices etc.
  5. Hi all,

I haven't used this website for some time. Hope your all well!

We have a surplus of Ash and Larch cordwood for sale. The larch has been felled for about 2-3 years now (circa 50 tonne), Ash about 3 years (circa 200 tonne), and has been stored in our yard drying ready for processing.

We are looking to reduce some of our stock as the land is needed for other reasons. We have contacts for haulage if anybody is interested.

Please PM for prices / phone number.

    Hello Jack,

I am interested if this is still for sale?
  6. well pulled the trigger on the high spec version with the built in flow controls.

opted for the usual 3 buckets ditch, 600, 300 and also a microbucket 700 deep for utilities (we are builder).

    https://rhinox-group.com/collections/deep-dig-trenching-buckets

putting a mtrack tracker on it for obvious reasons., these arent wired to the machine so cant be fried.

Good choice..would be interested to know how you get on with it[emoji106]. Did you go for Rhinox buckets in the end then?
  7. " Wacker Neuson " excavators are well worth a look, 36 months warranty & a good spec to go with it  [emoji106]1:
Machines range from 1 ton - 15 ton & everything in between  [emoji106]1:

Wacker have some nice excavators tbf...the ET90 seems to be the most powerful of the 8-9ton range...they are replacing the Kubota 8 tonners every day[emoji106]
  8. Having a new digger priced up at the moment, we have opted for the largest one we can tow that has the best reach/dump on the market.

Without boring you all witht he spreadsheet with the specs of pretty much every model on the market, the KX71-3 comes out on top, its been replaced by KX040-3.

It has an option of 'high spec' which gives :

    pFJ4f05.png

Im waiting on the extra cost, would this be a useful feature ?

We will keep the machine for 10 years so want to get it right, a couple extra grand now for something we may not use now but could be useful in future would be no problem.
The new kx027-4 seems to be rated fairly well...or there is the Takeuchi Tb230fr which is a quality machine...wouldn't consider anything other than Kubota or takeuchi[emoji108]

Also u will want Rhinox buckets with your machine www.rhinox-group.com or specify through the dealer...best buckets out there [emoji123][emoji6]
  9. I’m looking at replacement for my old 036. (560xpg or a 362cm vw) I’ve always been a Stihl fan but I like the look/feel of the 560xp.

Why does a Stihl saw seem to fetch more money second hand than a Husky equivalent?

    Can't go wrong with Stihl[emoji108][emoji108]
