  1. How is the Trak met going? Was the dual speed splatter worth it? Is it difficult to sharpen the saw chain on the bar? Thinking about buying one myself... Any advice greatly received

Not sure about the dual speed as not sure what the single speed is! cutting large diameter wood it returns before I can cut another block so that's good and changing chain to sharpen, I've found easier to sharpen chain in workshop! I bought 3 chains with machine only takes 5 mins to change and 1 chain can last a whole day but I often put a sharpened chain when I stop at lunchtime.

For the money you cant go wrong I bought the semi-automatic, duel speed with oil cooler and hydraulic blade lift and an 8-way knife and was about £13500 plus vat this included a large log deck there are a few issues that they need to address but only when cutting logs 550mm long and 18" diameter I have upto now cut and split mainly oak and the knife isn't beefy enough I would recommend the 6 way knife as the splitter is extremly powerful 25t and the 8way knife flex's A Lot! but only on long and large diameter blocks. For smaller blocks it's very good for the money for a well-known splitter you could be paying £10-15,000 more for the equivalent machine & deck I've just bought a posch logfix S firewood cleaner Ive not set it up yet but should take out a lot of small wood & bark I live in Herefordshire you're more than welcome to come and play with my trak -Met machine my mobile if you wanted to ask any questions is 07990806038.
