I had the same thing, took it back to the supplier, they gave it back ( after plugging it in to something) and it was fine.
Take it back.
I would take it back but my supplier is about 100 miles away and I think I'm out of warranty now too. I have mine delivered via UPS

Hopefully yea . If not do I need a solicitor ?
sweet.... and I will let you know tomorrow

I have found with the 2 A/T saws I have ( 560 and 540 ) that once the initial A/T set has been done you just get on and cut wood as it is constantly adjusting itself to the conditions . If you suddenly go from the lowlands of Scotland to the top of the Himalayas then maybe you need to re set but if not just cut wood .
Ok so you are saying that if I just do it once tomorrow then it "should" run fine after that???
Failing that then it could be something else wrong..
How will I know that it has reset properly? (apart from it not starting first time:001_huh:)

The plugging in does ( unless you have the software ) but re setting the A/T your self can be donre as above buy cutting the full length of the bar for 3-5 mins as per the book .
OK thanks....... I wonder if I can find the software online ... and I am going to try the reset tomorrow..... ive also heard that once started every day run full throttle for about 30 seconds and that kind of sets it up ???

Cut cookies or rings flat out with out letting off the throttle in between cuts and it should retune and settle down.
Thanks MattyF, I will give this a try tomorrow. Its so annoying when the saw does this. Plenty of big logs at the yard

does this have to be done via a dealer?

I've have my 540 for about 1 year now and it's starting to struggle to start once warm. I've heard it's the auto tune but the manual says nothing other than start and cut big logs for 3-5 mins. Any tips/though would be helpful.
