  1. Basically yes still here 3 years later scratching my chin ! I did get them working for a while . Relays was one of the problems , but there is a number of things causing the same symptoms . After it’s been running for a while the rollers just stop , killing and then restarting the engine seemed to get them going again for another 20 mins or so. Then same thing again! I put this problem down to the hydraulic oil because after it got upto temperature the rollers would stop and the chipper oil tank had gone below minimum And the oil was going into the other tank then overflowing . I changed the hyd oil recently and new filters and breather valves which seems to have cured the problem of the oil going into the other tank , however when I took the tanks off to clean them out I noticed there isn’t even an oil level sensor so that wasn’t the problem at all, and still the forward roller doesn’t work again at all . Reverse still works, I’m just looking at it again today. Anyone know what the 3rd wire is for on safety cut out switch on the push bar ? The blue / brown wires make a circuit and when the button is pressed the circuit breaks . What’s the 3rd wire tho?
  2. Im in north wales Skyhuck near aberdaron
  3. I know a bit about hydraulics . I’ve worked on diggers for years . Just needed to know where things are on this machine , I’m guessing there’s a non return valve that’s stuck open somewhere allowing the oil to flow to the other tank. Fitting any parts wouldn’t be a problem , don’t fancy taking it somewhere and paying a fortune for parts I don’t need lol
  4. Anyone got any idea on this ?
  5. Ahh right , I did ring Timberwolf up a while back and the guy I spoke to didn’t seem to have any ideas other than to take it to my local TW dealer who was in Warrington I think ?. Which is 150 miles from me . I’d rather fix it myself . I’m a car and marine mechanic so it wouldn’t be a problem. Just not that up on diagnosing hydraulic systems
  6. Am I in the right part of the forum for technical woody ?
  7. Hi everyone , I had a problem with my chipper last year and still have not got to the bottom of it . The machine is a TW 75/230 2003 model with low hours . the problem is it stops chipping after about 15 mins and it’s leaking hydraulic oil from the left side tank because the right side tank is somehow pumping its oil into it . This is then overflowing on the left side and I think this is what’s stopping the rollers because they work and it chips until the right side is below minimum then rollers don’t work. I assumed left tank is for tracks and right side for the chipper , But must be connected in some way and maybe there’s a valve open that shouldn’t be . Am I on the right track ? ( pardon the pun) cheers neil
  8. Ok I will do that, I am a vehicle engineer myself and familiar with electronic systems it's just these machines are new to me in terms of maintaining, although I have used them extensively this is the first one I've owned. I will check the wiring and relays and if I have no luck I will have to find my nearest dealership many thanks for your help
  9. Ok cheers I will post up my findings when I get chance to have a look at it
  10. Yes I'm with you that does sound like it could be the issue I'll check them out and hope it's that, I take it both relays are the same for forward and reverse so if it's not the contacts and possibly the relay it's self if I swap them and the problem is now with reverse it must be a duff relay
  11. Cheers guys , are the relays under the small cover below the dash panel where starter button ,key etc is ? I heard someone say there's also relays under the forward and reverse feed buttons as well or have I misread ? It's just weird how everytime i restart machine it's ok again. If it was a bad relay connection wouldn't it be doing it anytime and not only after the rollers have been running and stopped ? Either way I'll check it out Thanks
  12. Hi, recently bought a 2003 TW75 230H tracked chipper and often if the rollers get jammed/ you stop them / or move the chipper and go to restart the blades they won't go forward , the backwards button works fine but forward won't, doesn't seem to be the bar switch I've tried messing with that when it does the problem, only way to get it to work again is to drop revs, turn off the engine restart and pull up revs again, this seems to always do the trick but it's a real pain in the ass! Where exactly is the relay that some are talking about .? It started doing it today and seemed to do it more often as the day went on . Also what hydraulic oil do these old chippers take ? I assume ISO 32 And does anyone know where I can buy or download the manual for this model Many thanks Neil
