  1. There's a reason why he doesn't want them fixed up. He told me and I have forgot. Not sure I do know that he has lots of old parts that he uses to repair and has a few good ones tag the swaps over. He goes through a lot I assume as he uses it everyday and often is doing the challenging trees.
  2. I don't live in Inverness anymore but can give them a call. Spoke to the boss last night and the consensus is is that he doesn't wasn't a 560. He has so many 357 parts that's why he doesn't want to change over. Believe me he has thousands of parts. I told him about adding the rail which he will have to do if not successful with XPG but said it can weaken something (can't remember) when added on. Now looking in Germany... The search continues! 😩
  3. Thank you. I saw that saw but someone said earlier about possibility of adding the heated rail. I am speaking to my dad tonight so can suggest all ideas as I don't have a clue about saws. Someone has been trying to source it in Poland but no luck. Think he may just have to accept that he won't get that saw.
  4. Thanks. Yeah my dad can build up and fix saws. I think he is at the stage that he needs a new one though.
  5. Thank you for your help everyone. I will pass this onto my dad. Knowing my dad he will still insist on getting the 357 model... To answer someone's question he tree cuts all day so needs a reliable saw. He works alongside forwarder and does all tricky bits and tree surgery. He has so many old saws he repairs and he said he can't fix new ones. Thank you for the offer of looking at it. Dad is in the highlands of sunny Scotland.
  6. My dad is very stuck in his ways it has to be the 357 XPG. Believe me I have tried very hard to get him other models. He also fixes his saws so think it has to do with that. He wouldn't be able to fix the more up to date models.
  7. I have been trying for a brand new one but my dad is getting pretty desperate now. He uses a saw everyday and he suffers from numbness in his hands so needs the heated handrail. XP chsinsaws seem to be easier but not the XPG.
  8. Hi, I saw a thread from a few years back which led me to this site. My dad has been looking for a Husqvarna 357 XPG saw for a while and has had no success.'I have tried a number of places but all discontinued. Although there are many other saws out there he wants one the same as he had. Can anyone lead me in the right direction? I am now looking abroad for him. Thank you!
