Good morning - I have a fungi ID query someone maybe able to help with regarding a layered bracket fungi (picture in attachment) on an Oak in a Country Park I manage. Try as I might I cannot locate an image of this fungi online to ID it with any accompanying text detailing any detrimental structural effects it may have on the tree. Can anyone assist with its ID - see attachment
The fronds of the fungi are exceptionally thin and to me is not 'Chicken of the woods' to which I am quite familiar
Any help will be much appreciated

Thanks for the reply - you may well be right and it could be chicken of the woods although I was originally put off by seeing so many images of the fungi and with non directly resembling the one in the photo. I was convinced it was something else but not sure what. As you probably know you can often have two very similar looking fungi being of completely different species. This one was so different to other chicken of the woods specimens I've seen over the years that I was a bit stumped. Cheers
