  1. In truth i had been eyeing up the echo trimmers, i'll try and find a local dealer (midlands) to have a closer look
  2. Time has come to replace my old mculloch trimmer, doesn't need to be super heavy duty as its mainly going to be cutting back ivy and conifers at home and the odd small hedge for relatives. What would you guys recomend?
  3. Buxtons near Penkridge, bit of a trek but worth a visit
  4. Easy now Spud, i wouldn't go that far but thanks to you and the other guys i have a fair idea now
  5. Saw turned out to be a mish mash of cheap ebay parts and although seemed very useable the seller wouldn't budge on price (£285) so i'm back to the search again
  6. Mega helpful guys, thank you
  7. Going to view the above at the weekend, aside general condition, compression and running it, are there any major things i should be looking for?
  8. Some good points guys, if i buy another ebay saw it will be at right money as i know all too well about the condition of them from my 136! Must admit i like the idea of another Husky, the hunt is on!!!
  9. Greetings, first post here! Been using a husky 136 for light felling and firewood duties for a good few years now and besides the odd oil leak i've been very happy with it. As an aside from my day job (saddle maker) i have various permissions to use a number of woodlands for camping/bushcraft/gathering firewood and after helping a family friend/client over in shropshire the last few winters clearing some substantial windfalls on their property, i've been fancying something a little more substantial. I'm no stranger to fixing up 2 strokes so always one for a bargain i've been scouring the bay of evil and social media and like the idea of either husky 346xp or stihl ms240/260, any views and advice would be greatly appreciated
