  1. Cheers for that, I will see what they say!
  2. Cheers for this. Funnily enough I visited both blackhorse and building bloqs. They are both well equipped spaces that have good rates but they are still project based places and day to day. I would like to have a space preferably in someone's workshop with a bench that I can call "mine" and can leave tools safe and secure and show up to prototype pieces and develop some ideas. With a reasonable rate around 250-300 pm. I'm hoping theres something out there. There has to be!
  3. Thanks for mentioning Black Horse. I am aware of it but understand that it works on a day to day basis with constricted hours whereas I would like a space with more flexible hours. Fingers are crossed ..
  4. Hello, I have recently moved back to London after living in NYC where I was working as a furniture maker for 3 years. I am hoping to find a shared space where I can set out on my own. I live in north London around the N13 area. If anyone has any tips or knows of anyone renting out some bench space (or a dark corner) I would be really grateful. I would be making small to medium sized cabinets and coffee tables for the most part and should have a considerably small footprint in the shop. Cheers, Sidrick.
  5. Great, will check them out!
  6. This is looking quite promising! You guys are quite good
  7. Those boards are lovely, shame its collection only
  8. Thanks for all the replies, 80-90 pounds is quite reasonable if I could find a supplier. Does anyone know any that would deliver/ ship to north London area? Also arbwork I would be interested in a quote if you could pm maybe? Cheers all
  9. Greetings fellow craftsmen and woodworkers! I have just moved back to London after living in the US for about 3 years where i was working as a furniture maker I and am absolutely blown away at the price of American Black Walnut here in England. I was paying 8 Dollars a board foot for rough sawn lumber in Brooklyn and am struggling to find anything reasonably priced thus far.. I have been browsing the internet and checking ebay but can not seem to find any reasonable connections. I understand that things are different here and the materials are regulated as such and we tend to be more responsible with such species but I would like to ask if i am missing something? I have a small project in mind that will require about 24 board feet of walnut or three boards around 190cm long, 200cm wide of 5 quarter (25-30mm thick). Would anyone be able to advise me on how best to achieve this? Thanks and looking forward to any wisdom, Sid
