Hello Guys.
Brought with me a 6'/70"/190DL bar of unknown manufacture from Australia to Denmark. The nosewheel is now pretty worn, and new jobs are comming in, where my 40" bar is too short. Any idea, where i can obtain a new 70" bar for a 880 Stihl here in Europe?
Greetings Ben

Hello guys.
Can anyone recomend a company in GB that offers srt-training? A colleague and I have recently been burned by a German Institution, because training in srt apparently isn't allowed in Germany for the time beenin, due to inssurrance issues.
Best wishes
Ben

Hello guys.
Have tried to find an answer thru' the search functiond, didn't really work. Can anyone tell me, what is, according to LOLER, the safety factor between tensile strength and WLL/SWL on the various types of rigging equipment. Must say, the answer is probably going to be one of the questions in an upcomming ETW-exam

My first spurs were made by the local blacksmith. Horrible instruments of pain they were, but they did the job. Bought a pair of Klein Tree Climbers in -85, changed the gaffs to the short type pretty soon after. They were with the leather supports, they sometime chafed my shins bleeding, even with safety trousers on.
Got a pair of Opsal Alu Climber Pads after I saw a pole climbing competition in Denmark in -89. With those, I could stand in the tree till I died from starvation
Used those till -05, when a contractor ran out of money, and payed me with equipment. I got a nearly new pair of Buckingham Titanium with the Super Wraps. Have been using those ever since, except when my mate's borrowing them, then it's back to the Kleins. Only problem with the B-hams is, that the gaffs can hit the ground if you don't take the climbers of when walking.
I've tried the Geckos, but don't really trust the velcro tie-ins (My problem).
The moral of the story: Better than focusing only on weight, find something that fit you, and be sure that the shin supports are up to comfort. Don't know where you're operating, but don't buy the gaffs too long, if you don't need them

Here's a grove with small mounds of redwood sorrel among the trees and logs.
There be 4 Danes there ... and Gerald Beranek with the camera ...
It' actually three Danes and a South African, living in Denmark

You may actually have found the answer by yourself: It just seems like the chain is really hard and the file ai t citting into it. :-) . Is it the first sharpening of that chain? I've been working with chain sharpening since early 80es, the last 30 years as teacher at a forestry school. In the beginning, we bought chains by the roll, both Carlton (cheap), Oregon and Stihl. sometimes, a complete roll could be impossible to sharpen, probably because of wrong hardening. We still see the poblem today, but not so often, since we now buy chains to measure in boxes

But you got me on the right track!
Same company sells a Haix boot, class 2, from size 6. We will try that
Thanks a lot!

Hi Darrin.
Thanks for the quick answer.
We have used Meindl for several years, but unfortunately, they're only class 1 boots

Hello There.
I've been lurchin' here for a while, and am now hoping for your asistance in an equipmen problem.
I'm a teacher at the Danish Forestry college, app. 10% of our students are female. New rules from our equivalent to HSE have now stated, that class 2 boots are mandatory when using a chainsaw, no matter the speed of the chain.
We have rather great trouble in getting laced class 2 boots small enough (Size 36/37 or 7/7½)
Any suggestions, where to buy boots of a decent quality?
Regards
Ben
